Agilent HPLC Pump Drive (G1311-60001) (G1311-69001) (Refurbished)

Together with the pump plunger housing, the pump drive constitutes the main component of the pump module. Its two reciprocating pistons can deliver a seamless flow of solvent into the system.

Troubleshooting

Error messages:

Whenever an error occurs in the system, it will propagate through the CAN bus or APG remote cable. Depending on whether it occurred during a method run or not, the other modules will be informed and stopped, or will remain idle waiting for the system to be ready again.

Pump related errors

The following is a list of pump specific errors:

Message Probable causes Suggested actions
2014 / 2500 – Pressure above upper limit
  • Upper pressure limit set too low.
  • Blockage in the flowpath (after the damper).
  • Defective damper.
  • Defective main board.
  • Ensure the upper pressure limit is set to a value suitable for the analysis.
  • Check for blockage in the flowpath. The following components are particularly subject to blockage: inline filter frit, needle (autosampler), seat capillary (autosampler), sample loop (autosampler), column frits and capillaries with small internal diameters (e.g. 50 μm ID).

2015 / 2501 – Pressure below lower limit
  • Lower pressure limit set too high.
  • Air bubbles in the mobile phase.
  • Leak.
  • Defective damper.
  • Defective main board.
  • Ensure the lower pressure limit is set to a value suitable for the analysis.
  • Make sure that the degasser is in flow path and works correctly. Purge the module.
  • Ensure solvent inlet filters are not blocked.
  • Inspect the pump head, capillaries and fittings for signs of a leak.
  • Purge the module. Run a pressure test to determine whether the seals or other module components are defective.

2044 – AIV fuse
  • Defective active inlet valve.
  • Defective connection cable (front panel to main board).
  • Defective main board.
  • Restart the module. If the error message appears again, exchange the active inlet valve.
  • Contact Moyo Scientific Service.
2041 / 2042 – Motor-drive power
  • Flow path blockage in front of the damper.
  • Blocked passive inlet valve.
  • Blocked outlet valve.
  • High friction (partial mechanical blockage) in the pump drive assembly.
  • Defective pump drive assembly.
  • Defective main board.
  • Ensure the capillaries and frits between the pump head and damper inlet are free from blockage.
  • Exchange the passive inlet valve.
  • Exchange the outlet valve.
  • Remove the pump-head assembly. Ensure there is no mechanical blockage of the pump-head assembly or pump drive assembly.
  • Contact Moyo Scientific Service
2517 – Temperature limit Exceeded
  • High friction (partial mechanical blockage) in the pump drive assembly.
  • Partial blockage of the flowpath in front of the damper.
  • Defective pump drive assembly.
  • Defective main board.
  • Remove the pump-head assembly. Ensure there is no mechanical blockage of the pump-head assembly or pump drive assembly.
  • Ensure the outlet valve is not blocked.
  • Contact Moyo Scientific Service.
2201 / 2211 – Servo restart failed
  • Disconnected or defective cable.
  • Blocked passive inlet valve.
  • Mechanical blockage of the module.
  • Defective pump drive assembly.
  • Defective main board.
  • Exchange the passive inlet valve.
  • Remove the pump-head assembly. Ensure there is no mechanical blockage of the pump-head assembly or pump drive assembly.
  • Contact Moyo Scientific Service.
2202 / 2212 – Pump head missing
  • Pump head not installed correctly (screws not secured, or pump head not seated correctly).
  • Broken piston.
  • Install the pump head correctly. Ensure nothing (e.g. capillary) is trapped between the pump head and body.
  • Exchange the piston.
2203 / 2213 – Index limit
  • Irregular or sticking drive movement.
  • Defective pump drive assembly.
  • Remove the pump head, and examine the seals, pistons, and internal components for signs of wear, contamination or damage. Exchange components as required.
  • Contact Moyo Scientific Service
2204 / 2214 – Index adjustment
  • Irregular or sticking drive movement.
  • Defective pump drive assembly.
  • Remove the pump head, and examine the seals, pistons, and internal components for signs of wear, contamination or damage. Exchange components as required.
  • Contact Moyo Scientific Service.
2205 / 2215 / 2505 – Index missing
  • Disconnected or defective encoder cable.
  • Defective pump drive assembly.
Contact Moyo Scientific Service.
2206 / 2216 – Stroke length Defective pump drive assembly. Contact Moyo Scientific Service.
2207 / 2217 – Initialisation failed
  • Blocked passive inlet valve.
  • Defective pump drive assembly.
  • Defective main board.
  • Exchange the passive inlet valve.
  • Contact Moyo Scientific Service.
2053 – Wait timeout
  • Purge valve open.
  • Leak at fittings, purge valve, active inlet valve, outlet valve or piston seals.
  • Flow changed after starting test.
  • Defective pump drive assembly.
  • Ensure that purge valve is closed.
  • Ensure pump components are seated correctly. If there are still signs of a leak, exchange the appropriate seal (purge valve, active inlet valve, outlet valve, piston seal).
  • Exchange defective capillaries.
  • Ensure correct operating condition for the special application in use.
