Agilent 1100 /1200/1260 HPLC Active Inlet Valve (AIV) (G1312-60025)(Refurbished)

The inlet valve is located underneath the pump head.
Its function is to regulate the flow of the solvent, stopping it from back-flushing and allowing it to only be pumped forward.
The valve can be either passive (PIV) or active (AIV). AIVs have a better performance overall.
